How to Preserve Unfinished Craft Beer for a Short Time

We already know how to store unopened craft beer.
First, it’s important to understand that fresh beer is unpasteurized. Pasteurized beer can be stored for about a year, but once opened, it should be consumed as soon as possible. This is because many microorganisms in the air can enter the beer and produce substances harmful to the human body. If consumed along with the beer, these substances may lead to illness.

So, how should we preserve unfinished craft beer?

Method 1: Take a clean glass, make sure it is dry, and dip the bottom of the glass in a little clean water. While the water is still wet, immediately invert it over the mouth of the beer bottle. This can keep the beer fresh for 3 to 5 hours. When you drink it again, the taste of the beer will not have changed much, though there may be slightly less foam.

Method 2: If you haven’t finished the beer, you can seal the bottle with a champagne or wine cork. This also works well to preserve freshness. Even if you drink it a day later, the beer will still have its fresh taste and foam.

Both of these methods can effectively preserve leftover beer. Many people sometimes cannot finish a bottle, so it’s important to know how to properly store the remaining beer while enjoying it.
